Before I say anything, I know I’ve been considerably poor in terms of blogging this year and I’m disappointed not to have got more posts out there. But moving on…
It’s come to that wonderful time of year again, Christmas! And like usual, I’m looking forward to spending time with family and friends over this festive period. But unlike previous years, where I’ve had work to do, revision to read up on, etc…I have no work/revision to do over the holidays, which to me, means a number of things.
I’ll be more relaxed!
There’s not much that I detest more than having work to worry about when you’re meant to be having a ‘break’ from education. So this is welcome news to me. What it has meant over the last three months or so is that University work has had to take the front seat in terms of priorities and levels of importance. But that is about to change over the next three weeks.
Beautiful, melodic, ambient music shall be made.
On Friday, I will be heading off to Switzerland for the second, and hopefully not the last, time. Whilst there I will be mostly relaxing and just enjoying being off for the holidays. This means that in the time I have, when alone, I’ll be getting my head down into some fresh ideas for an EP to be released some time in the new year.
I’ll also be on my way to Norwich on the 23rd to see my family for Christmas, which means I’ll be up there for about a week. Fortunately my cousin is very musical and should be able to provide a fresh pair of ears onto what I have been mysteriously piecing together in Switzerland.
The overall plan is to write the majority of the music whilst in Switzerland, not worrying about the final product too much. Going to Norwich with a number of tracks to flick through and see which ones are good enough, and work together. Then to spend a bit of time polishing off the EP in the new year and then getting it out to you wonderful, patient, people.
I’m going to update this blog daily during the next few weeks, to keep you guys updated on proceedings.
So to sum up this blog post; there will be new, downloadable music from Parallel View in the new year and I’m really excited.
Please feel free to leave comments and what you think.
